Introductory short courses
The university's Computer Centre offers short introductory courses in
computing (for a modest fee) throughout the year, which provide a suitable
opportunity for students who have had no experience with computing to prepare
themselves for first-year computing courses and to help them decide whether
computing is a field to which they are likely to be suited. The courses are
recommended for all students commencing computing studies with the exception of
those already proficient in the use of personal computers and
editor/wordprocessing programs. Enrolment may be made with the Computer Centre,
Monash University, Clayton 3168, Phone (03) 565 4765. The Pearcey Centre,
telephone (03) 573 2489 at the Caulfield campus also offers suitable courses
which generally cover material to a greater depth.
