Systems design and implementation

C Rodrigues

6 points * 4 hours per week * First semester * Caulfield * Corequisites: SYS7500

Design: quality techniques including formal reviews, walk-throughs and adherence to standards; structured design techniques including structure charts, coupling, cohesion and the morphology of systems; design heuristics; transform analysis; software ergonomics including screen and report design, input and output controls, computer controls and the security of information. Implementation: project planning; the implementation plan and user training; documentation including training guides and user, operating and system manuals; testing including system, acceptance and conversion testing; the cut-over process including file establishment or conversion; parallel running, benchmarking, test running, system tuning and the post-implementation review; maintenance.

Assessment

Examination (3 hours): 50% * Practical work: 50%
