Information technology strategic planning

This subject aims to introduce students to some of the key concepts in information technology strategic planning, the main approaches taken to it and their problems. Practitioners in many disciplines have grappled with the problems of preparing strategic plans. Strategic planning for IT has had a relatively short history, but has encountered many of the same problems. This subject will discuss some of the key influences on the development of approaches to IT strategic planning and how the theory and practice of IT planning have evolved. Current methods and approaches to strategic planning will be critically evaluated.
