Distributed computation and simulation

Basic characteristics of distributed software systems. Specification of distributed systems. Task partitioning and allocation. The construction of distributed software systems. The simulation of systems, and simulation methodology. The use of statistical techniques in designing and analysing simulations. Case studies drawn from distributed problem solving.
