Systems programming II

6 points * 4 hours per week * Second semester * Caulfield * Prerequisites: SFT4100 recommended

Communicating sequential processes, polling and interrupts, semaphores, pipes, sockets, distributed and parallel processing, client-server relationships. Conflicting subsystem requirements: DBMS, TPMS, timing, performance measurement, tailoring operating systems facilities.

Assessment

Written (4000 words): 50% * Practical work: 50%
