Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies

Clayton campus

The Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies is offered by the Department of Librarianship, Archives and Records. It provides a general education in library and information studies and an overview of the context in which libraries and other information agencies operate.

Entry to the course is open to candidates who hold a recognised degree from an Australian university (or a qualification deemed to be equivalent). Applicants should also be able to demonstrate a basic competence in the use of personal computers and word processing. In certain circumstances, admission may be granted to individuals who lack a degree but who have no less than five years relevant professional experience.

The duration of the course is one year (full-time) or two to three years (part-time).
