Early standards: 2780, HASP multileaving protocol, 3270 binary synchrono historical background to SNA. SNA concepts and structure. Typical devices associated with SNA, eg VTAM, communications controllers, NCP, representative terminals. The operation of SNA. Recent developments, eg LU 6.2, LEN, local area networks. Other representative proprietary network architectures, eg DECNET, PRIMENET. Proprietary network architectures implemented to ISO standards, eg ICL's IPA.
