Programming for business applications

Programming language generations and their characteristics. Algorithms and computer programs. Data dictionaries and data analysis. Screen design. Report design. File design. Using a fourth generation approach. Case studies of small business systems. Evaluation of software: requirements analysis. Implementation and system documentation. For distance education students there is provision for additional student contact through electronic mail and news.

Assessment

Assignments: 30% * Examination: 70% * Note that satisfactory performance in both components is required to obtain a pass
