Database management systems

This subject provides a comprehensive knowledge of the problems of complex database management systems and database organisation. Both theoretical and pragmatic approaches will be presented to the problems of logical data description, organisation and manipulation. Topics include data models, normalisation, query languages, fourth-generation languages, integrity and security.

Assessment

Examination (2 hours): 80% * Practical work: 20%
