Image processing

4 points * Two 1-hour lectures per week * Second semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: As for CSC3010; competency in C programming is a requirement * Corequisites: As for CSC3030 * Prohibitions: PHS3152

This subject covers fundamental techniques in image processing. Topics include image representation and enhancement, thresholding, image algebra, neighbourhood operations on images, Fourier methods, edge detection, feature extraction and representation, shape, texture, segmentation, classification, restoration, image compression and colour and multiband image processing.

Assessment

Examination (2 hours): 70% * Assignments: 30%
