Systems security and privacy

4 points * 4 hours per week * Second semester * Caulfield * Prerequisites: COT1140 or COT1800

This subject aims to provide students with a grounding in current practice for securing computer systems and open networks, and with an understanding of the legal responsibilities of organisations that maintain databases of personal information. The syllabus includes securing computer systems, privacy in Australia, securing open systems and relevant standards.

Assessment

Examination (2 hours): 70% * Assignment work: 30%
