Comparative operating systems

4 points * 2 hours per week * Second semester * Caulfield * Prerequisites: COT1140 * Prohibitions: CSC2020, RDT2141, RDT2410

The following operating systems features will be studied via case studies of various commercial operating systems: process management, memory management, concurrency, job and process scheduling, distributed computing, file systems, database management systems, compilers and applications programming interfaces, and operating systems security.

Assessment

Examination (2 hours): 50% * Practical work: 50%
