General operations management

This subject provides a general introduction to operations management in both manufacturing and service industries. Topics covered include sales order management, trading, purchasing and distribution management; manufacturing management including manufacture resource and materials requirements planning; project management; operations and capacity planning in service industries; equipment and facilities management; technological methods including use of computer-based information systems in an operations management context; the relationship between operations strategy and business strategy.

Assessment

Written: 50% * Examination (2 hours): 50%
