Computer information systems

7 points * One 2-hour lecture and one 1-hour tutorial per week * First semester * Clayton

This subject provides an introduction to the principles and general use of computer information systems for business applications. Topics covered include introduction to information systems, computer hardware and software, overview of programming and computer languages, database management, use of microcomputer application software for business data processing including spreadsheets and database management systems.

Assignment 1 (special topics): 10% * Assignment 2 (system implementation): 20% * Examination (2 hours): 60%
