Second-year subjects from the Faculty of Science to the value of twelve points will be treated as the equivalent of two second-year subjects (ie one quarter of a year's work) towards the requirements for the degree.

Students wishing to take subjects from outside the faculty which are equivalent to less than one-quarter of a year's work at second-year level or half a year's work at third-year level from one department, may be given permission by the dean provided that the subject or subjects to be taken form a coherent package.
