Synopsis At the end of the subject participants should be able to explain the use of information systems in a range of logistics applications; interpret corporate financial statements; carry out break-even analysis; explain activity-based cost accounting; evaluate capital projects using discounted cash flow techniques; evaluate logistics decisions using the strategic profit model; explain a number of approaches to quality; use statistical quality control tools; devise and apply appropriate performance measures in logistics functions; explain approaches to organisation structure for logistics management.

Assessment Case study analysis: 10% * Minor assignment/presentation: 10% * Individual major assignment (4000 words): 40% * Class test: 40%
