Agricultural systems II

Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to assess the impact of dysfunctional processes and technologies on the system; use scientific tools to measure, monitor and analyse processes and technologies; understand the application of the principles of environmental manipulation to the design of intensive agricultural production systems.

Synopsis Animal and plant health, factors affecting health, management of the environment of animals and plants (animal housing, irrigation systems), labour efficiency in agricultural production, plant and animal breeding, harvesting and post-harvest handling of agricultural and horticultural products.

Assessment Assignments (4000 words): 40% * Examinations (3 hours): 60%
