Professor Amrik Sohal

6 points * 3 hours per week * Caulfield * Prerequisites: MKT5280, MGM7450

SynopsisThe main aims of this subject are that students achieve comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the selected topics; understand the benefits of group dynamics and team work; develop communications and presentations skills. This subject will require students to work on two topics, one individually and the second in small groups (two or three students per group) to carry out in-depth investigations into specific topics concerning manufacturing management. Topics will be selected after consultation with the course director. Each student will be required to prepare and submit a report on their individual investigation and make a presentation to an appropriate forum. The second task is that each group will submit a report on its investigation and also make a presentation to an appropriate forum. Each member of the group will be expected to make equal contribution to the report and the presentation. To ensure that commercial significance of the topics is understood, specialist advice will be provided to students on the issues together with communication and presentation skills.

Assessment Two assignments: 70% * Final examination (3 hours): 30%
