Synopsis This subject aims to increase students' awareness and understanding of information technology and systems from the manager's perspective. It also aims to provide students with practical learning in the use of common decision support software. Topics covered include the importance of information; the components of information technology; information systems; selecting and purchasing hardware and software; gaining strategic and competitive advantage; managing information workers and social and system issues. Students are expected to undertake both fieldwork research and individual learning projects as part of assessment.

Assessment Three assignments (2000 words each): 70% * Final examination: 2.5 hours: 30%
