Innovation in manufacturing management

Synopsis This dynamic subject covers the role of innovation in business strategy development. Innovation and its relationship to continuous as well as radical step improvements is stressed in product and process development. The topic of vertical integration as a production strategy is introduced. This is followed by capacity and facilities planning and flow-based production systems. Finally emphasis is given to periodic assessment of performance in support of constant self-monitoring of operations by all manufacturing people.
