Manufacturing management technologies

Synopsis The theme of the subject is world competitive manufacturing (WCM); this subject will explore management improvement technologies. It commences with an overview of technology development over the past thirty years, and then treat the responsibilities for development of technologies which will focus on manufacturing specific technologies, and include JIT, MRP, CAD/CAM, FMS and OPT. The vital orientation towards customers and vendors receives attention as continuous improvement as a way of organisational life. The establishment of process capability and the variability of processes leads through to managing change in a manufacturing environment. To conclude, there is a segment on the implementation of manufacturing improvement technologies.
