Manufacturing business strategies

Synopsis This subject provides an introduction to and development of the fundamental structure and issues involved in manufacturing strategies. It covers organisational responsibility for manufacturing business strategy development. The strategic business planning process and the relationship between strategy development and manufacturing management technologies is explored in depth. There is an analysis of the internal and external environment facing business now and likely to arise in the future. Attention is given to the establishment of the business culture including the determination of a sustainable competitive advantage. The development, in a reiterative fashion, of strategies impacting on manufacturing and including production, human resource development and people management, innovation and technology, finance and performance monitoring. An introduction to systems integration and the implementation of manufacturing business strategies.
