Overseas study tour 2

6 points * Students will be required to attend methodology and background classes of three hours duration on three separate days prior to the overseas tour, together with time allocated to discussion and review with the subject leader during the overseas study tour, giving a total of 39 formal hours * Corequisite: MGM3860

Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able: to appreciate overseas countries' economic and cultural situations prior to departure; to show a development of thinking on different manufacturing companies; to identify and report on the `World Best Practice' management technologies and practices of international companies.

Synopsis Nationals of the countries to be visited will brief students on their country's economic situation, manufacturing industry and cultural practices, as well as provide the student with travel hints. A general lecture will be provided by the subject leader.

Assessment Pre-tour classwork: 50% * Proposal for tour report: 50%
