Objectives On completion of this subject students should have an understanding of the role of human resource development in the success of organisations; have the ability to examine the theoretical and design considerations in the development of training programs for the workplace; have gained some experience in developing and delivering presentation; the ability to recognise and critically evaluate the ethical issues involved in specific training techniques.
Synopsis This subject examines the various roles of human resource development in organisations: training; education; career guidance; and organisational development. It examines many of the applicable theories and factors affecting training outcomes; as well as the economic, ethical, legal and financial considerations.
Assessment Written (two 2000-word assignments): 40% * tutorial presentations: 20% * Examination (2 hours): 40%
