Applied operations management

Synopsis This subject is aimed at students with a special interest in operations management. The subject covers long, medium and short-term decision making in the operations function of an organisation. Topics include location and capacity planning, aggregate planning, line balancing, scheduling and sequencing, quality management, maintenance management, and manufacturing strategy. Illustrations from service industries are used to highlight the applicability of techniques.

Assessment Written (5000-word project and two quantitative assignments of 5-10 problems): 100%
