Structure and management of cooperative businesses

Synopsis This subject aims to present principles and information about the organisation and management of cooperative businesses on a comparative basis within Australia and overseas. The subject will set Australian cooperatives in their historical context, discuss principles and theories of cooperative organisation, describe and analyse successful cooperative businesses, examine cooperative legislation, relate organisations along cooperative lines to other methods of achieving business objectives, and present information about opportunities for further adoption of the cooperative approach to business in Australia.
