Synopsis This subject analyses the relationship between government and business, its problems and issues in both theoretical and practical perspectives. The subject has a three-fold objective: (i) to teach students of business and government about the relationship that exists between the public and private sector, and of the impact that the policy decisions of one sector have on the operation of the other; (ii) to examine approaches open to business organisations and to government to influence or direct the policy decisions of either sector; to explore alternate structures and future directions that the business/government interface may take. The subject uses lectures, readings and case studies.

Assessment Seminar paper (2000-3000 words): 20% * Major essay (3000-4000 words): 30% * Examination (2 hours): 50%
