Public sector human resource management

Synopsis This subject aims to provide students with an understanding of the factors involved in the effective utilisation of people within organisations, together with an appreciation of a range of human resource systems and approaches used in modern public sector organisations. Students in this subject will concentrate on contemporary public sector human resource management issues including performance management, senior executive service systems, classifications structures and systems, incentive, contracts, benchmarking, grievance systems, equal employment opportunity and affirmative action concepts and their administration.

Assessment Written (assignment 3500 words): 50% * Examination (2 hours): 50%
