Synopsis This subject provides an introduction to employee relations at the enterprise level. It is concerned with both theory and practice and topics covered include the contract of employment; enterprise bargaining; workplace management and union structures; traditional management style and strategies; management strategies; employee participation; best practice; skill formation; and core/peripheral employment patterns. The subject also provides students with an understanding of the external context of employee relations.

Assessment Written (assignments 4000 words): 40% * Take-home examination: 60%
