Objectives Using communication, information technology and problem assessment and solving skills, students follow an integrated study of the preparation, reporting, application and organisational influence of management accounting information. With a special emphasis on understanding responsibility accounting, budgeting and strategic planning, students draw upon their work experience and their knowledge of computing, economics, and accounting provided by previous subjects in the Graduate Diploma of Business (Accounting).
Synopsis Cost/volume/profit analysis. Relevant costs for special decisions. Budgeting: the budget planning process, including master budget preparation. Budgeting: standard costs. Responsibility accounting. Management by objectives and non-financial performance measurement. Transfer pricing and divisional performance. Program budgeting and other approaches. Capital budgeting and long-term investment decisions. Strategic planning.
