Travel services management

Objectives The primary objective of this subject is to develop understanding of the concept of travel as the major element of the tourism system and as an experience through which individuals seek to meet a range of needs. It aims also to provide students with the knowledge necessary for effective organisation of travel services and operation of tours, and to cultivate appropriate attitudes with respect to customer orientation, cultural distinctions, environmental impacts and community concerns.

Synopsis Travel service industry; travel agency sector; information technology; processing travel arrangements; group business; tour products; tour management;setting a price; distribution channels; promotion; evaluation and feedback.

Assessment Two essay assignments (2000 words): 50% * Examination (3 hours): 50%
