Objectives On successful completion of this subject students should have developed further spoken and written language skills; skills to read simplified materials; the ability to write general letters requesting information; vocabulary useful in some business situations; an understaning of current affairs in China.

Synopsis Intermediate level spoken and written Chinese; intermediate level readings; readings (in English) on Chinese current affairs.

Assessment Assignments: 20% * Written examination (2 - 2 hours): 50% * Aural/oral tests: 30%
