History of economic doctrine

Synopsis Consideration of the different analytical frameworks and methodological approaches which economists have used to discuss issues such as value and distribution, unemployment, tariffs, fluctuations in output and state intervention. Attention will be paid to the social context in which particular issues and questions become relevant. Economists to be considered include D Ricardo, T Malthus, K Marx, W S Jevons, L Walras and J M Keynes.
