Statistics for marketers

Objectives Revise basic mathematical concepts and skills, so that students are able to understand and perform a wide variety of mathematical and statistical processes; develop a competence in the use of descriptive skills necessary when dealing with statistical data; this will enable students to be more effective in business planning, forecasting and management.

Synopsis A course in statistics designed for postgraduate students in the field of marketing. The topics covered include descriptive statistics, empirical and probability distributions, probability models, normal distribution, sampling distributions, introduction to SAS, goodness-of-fit tests, simple and multiple regression, distribution free tests, ANOVA, introduction to forecasting.

Assessment Tutorial exercises: 40% * Examination (3 hours): 60%
