Objectives At the end of the semester students will be required to demonstrate an understanding of the following concepts available financing techniques; structure of international financial markets; foreign currency regimes and hedging techniques; characteristics of international banking; analysis of current issues.

Synopsis The international monetary system, debt and country risk, the foreign exchange market, hedging, corporate use of the foreign exchange market, the Euromarkets, foreign banks, multinational banking, tax havens and offshore financial centres.

Assessment Assignment (4000 words): 40% * Examination: 60%
