Objectives On completion of this subject students should have developed an understanding of financial statements; be provided with a conceptual framework for financial management and policy; be familiar with the analytical techniques for a wide variety of problems involving financial decisions; and have developed an understanding of the changing nature of financing in deregulated and competitive financial markets.
Synopsis Introduction to financial statements; financial mathematics and pricing of financial instruments; review of foundations of finance; concepts and models for working capital; financial leverage and theory of capital structure; evaluation of major projects.
Assessment Assignment: 30% * Final examination (3 hours): 70%
