Management accounting

One 3-hour session per week * Second semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: AAF2130 and AAF3130

Synopsis The subject will integrate the behavioural and quantitative aspects of internal information systems for management planning, control and decision making. Topics covered will include consideration of the role of the accounting system in an integrated management information system; cost data appropriate for decision models; special problems in analysing recurring activities including the measurement of departmental and divisional performance and joint costs; decision models under conditions of uncertainty. A significant part of the subject will be concerned with experimental design and the evaluation of empirical studies of judgement and decisions.
