Law

Sequence in law subjects

Subject to a quota in LAW1100 (Legal process 100), students may complete a minor sequence in subjects from the Faculty of Law, and in addition may complete further specified law subjects to the value of twenty-four credit points at third-year level provided such subjects are credited to and required for the BA degree: see List C in `Availability of subjects in 1994' in this handbook.

Combined degree

Students who enrol for the combined BA/LLB will be required to complete the following sequence of law subjects to be credited to both degrees in accordance with the prescription for the combined BA/LLB degrees.

Students normally take LAW1100 (Legal process 100) (twelve points) in their first year followed at second-year level by LAW2100 (Contract 200) and LAW2200 (Torts 200) (ten points each) and at third-year level by LAW3400 (Property 300) and one of LAW3200 (Constitutional law 300), or LAW3300 (Criminal law and procedure 300) or, with the approval of the subdean of Law, LAW3100 (Administrative law 300) (twelve points each). However, students can only enrol for LAW3100 (Administrative law 300) if they have passed or are concurrently enrolled for LAW3200 (Constitutional law 300).
