Sexuality, gender and social relations

Theoretical diversity in the study of sexuality; the social construction and regulation of sexuality; the production of masculinities and femininities; gendered/sexed bodies; sexuality and political contestation; definitions of `normality,' sexual diversity, challenges and resistances; the commercialisation and commodification of sexuality; the `trade' in bodies and desire; sexuality and domination, violence and the regulation of women.

Assessment

One essay (3000 words): 40% * One book review (1500 words): 30% * Test (1.5 hours): 30%
