Prerequisites: A first-year Slavic language subject
The subject introduces students to the systematic investigation of the Russian vocabulary with some contrastive study of the vocabulary of other Slavic languages. It covers such topics as orthography, word-formation and the structure of inflected words, as well as etymology and patterns of lexical development.
