This subject examines three major aspects of international relations: (1) interdependence and sovereignty of nations: nation state, imperialism, foreign aid, transnational bodies; (2) war and weapons: causes and nature of war, nuclear strategy, arms control, etc; (3) domestic determinants of foreign policy: case studies of selected countries.

Assessment

Written (2500 words) and tutorial presentation: 50% * Examinations (3 hours): 50%
