Australian politics and government

This subject studies Australia's political and governmental institutions against a conceptual backdrop. The primary conceptual focus is on `democracy,' `the state' and `power'. The subject has three objectives: first, to explain key aspects of Australian politics and government; second, to provide a deeper conceptual understanding of the nature of Australian politics; third, to provide a means of participating in the debate over the future direction of Australian politics, government and society.

Assessment

Written (2 pieces of written work comprising 2500 words): 50% * Examinations (2 hours): 50%
