8 points * 2 hours per week * Clayton * Prerequisite: A first-year sequence in philosophy and two, 8-point second-year philosophy subjects including at least one of PHL2110, PHL2130 or PHL2170. A basic competence in logic is required
The subject will follow some central themes in twentieth century philosophy. The first half of the seminars will revolve around student-initiated discussions.
Assessment
Two essays (3000 words each): 50% each * Optional replacement of one essay by a 3-hour examination * Satisfactory participation in student-initiated discussions will be required
