Music of China, Japan and Korea

The subject deals with musical, aesthetic, social and ritual concepts and practices as expressed in the musical life in China, Japan and Korea, with particular reference to selected performance of music and dance, the relationships between music and the related arts, and the topology of musical instruments in northeast Asia.

Written (2500 words): 40% * Examination (3 hours): 45% * Assignments: 15%
