Music of North and South India

The subject deals with musical, aesthetic, social and ritual concepts and practices as expressed in the musical life of North and South India with particular reference to selected performances of music and dance, the relationships between music and the related arts, and the topology of musical instruments in South Asia.

Assessment

Written (2500 words): 40% * Examinations (3 hours): 45% * Assignment: 15%
