Orchestral performance and theory I

(i) Solo, ensemble, orchestral and sectional rehearsals and concert performance of selected works, and (ii) training in the materials and structures of music, emphasising musicianship and creativity, including melodic, rhythmic, harmonic and contrapuntal relationships and formal structures. Subject designed for BA music majors and BMus students majoring in performance and/or ethnomusicology.

Written (1000 words): 15% * Examinations (1 hour): 15% * Concert performance: 70%
