Exploring Western music II

6 points * 4 hours per week * Second semester * Clayton * Prerequisite: MUS1100

Lectures explore the questions of form, style and genre in representative works from the Romantic period to the present day. In addition the sounds, ideas and theories of some world music traditions will be introduced. In tutorials, students will continue to explore their own creative skills through the supervised writing of original compositions.

Assessment

Written (1500 words): 25% * Examinations (2 hours): 50% * Assignments: 25%
