Organisational behaviour

This subject aims to increase students' knowledge of organisation behaviour as an academic and scientific field of study. It also aims to provide information on organisation behaviour that can be used in the effective management of people and organisations. Topics include the historical and social science bases of organisational behaviour; aspects of individual functioning such as perception, attitudes, learning and motivation; performance management; the nature and functions of groups; the operation of organisational processes such as decision making, communication, power and politics, conflict and intergroup relations, and leadership; organisational structure and design; and organisational change and development. With MGC1020, this is a foundation subject upon which students may build a specialty in management.

Assessment

Assignment 1 (1000 words): 10% * Assignment 2 (1500 words): 20% * Examination (3 hours): 70%
