Australia-Japan social relations

This course introduces students to selected aspects of Australia's social and cultural relations with Japan. Although the examination of such relations is still in its infancy, the course seeks to develop on those theories of international relations which throw light on informal diplomacy and the dynamics of interpersonal networks and interaction in inter-country relations. A major aim is to provide students with a framework for thinking about Australia-Japan relations and for conducting research on various aspects of Australia's relationship with Japan.
