Japanese sociolinguistics

8 points * 3 hours per week * First semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: Completion of or concurrent enrolment in level B Japanese language

The study of basic aspects of the Japanese language and system of communication, as well as intercultural communication. Topics include communication problems, variation, networks, politeness, discourse structure, non-verbal communication and others.

Assessment

Research project (3000 words): 60% * Written exercises (2000 words): 10% * Examinations (1 hour): 30%
